My wife and I booked a tour through the Marriot Hotel, Tsaghkadzor. Michel is a private tour guide and he was highly recommended to us. He picked us up direct from the hotel and drove us straight to Lake Sevan. From there he took us to the Sevanavank Monastery - absolutely stunning scenery! The colours of the lake continue to change colour depending on the time of the day.... crispy cool weather with the warm sun! Quite some steps awaits you on the way to the top, if you are not used to the altitude then make sure to take it slow. it was not recommended to buy from people that approach you or try to make you buy candles. Small markets are at the base of the steps by the carpark (very reasonable prices). from there we drove to a beer factory with its own bar and restaurant in Sevan called Kellars beer, we tried the different types of local brewed beer, the non filtered light was great! Michel offered for us to have traditional armenia food at a family house which ended up being one of the highlights of the tour. Everything we had from the juice, to the bread all the way to dessert was grown in the garden and cooked in the family home with love, a simple family with beautiful cultural values.... We stopped at another beautiful Monastery and also to drink water direct from a fresh spring water well! Most amazing spring water you will ever taste! Most wonderful landscapes, Michel is a very safe driver, he makes you feel very comfortable. He has great english and he makes you feel like you are apart of the family and the culture. His knowledge on the history and landmarks is a credit to his passion for his country. We would highly recommend him! Thank you Michel for giving us this great experience.
